Tori Eversmann never shies away from a challenge. In addition to co-founding Eversmann Advisory in 2018 with her husband, retired First Sergeant Matt Eversmann, the soldier who inspired the lead character in the book and movie Black Hawk Down, she also is an author and professional speaker. Her first novel, The Immortals,
was published in 2015. Tori is a former high school and collegiate polo player, cooked on yachts in the West Indies, worked in event planning and new business development for Sylvan Learning Systems and the Calvert School (Baltimore), wrote and photographed a cooking blog called Fig-n-Fennel
, and is the co-host of The Veterans Nation podcast.
Amid adversity during Matt’s 15-month deployment to Iraq, Tori worked tirelessly as a single parent, a cheerleader for her husband’s wounded men at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, and as the conduit of information from the battlefield during her husband’s deployment. Emboldened by her front row seat to the “veterans predicament” -- veteran talent that is overlooked for myriad reasons -- Tori collected all her experiences to start the grassroots movement with Matt to challenge the veterans predicament and educate Americans on this untapped resource.
Tori received her B.A. in English/Creative Writing from Skidmore College and currently lives in West Palm Beach with her husband, daughter, and two dogs where she enjoys travel, paddleboarding, cooking, mountain hiking, and reading.
